The City of Salem and the consultants they brought in, Alta Planning + Design, and CH2MHILL did a great job with visuals and explaining solutions and treatments available for bicycling and pedestrian infrastructure. The representatives for the city, Alta, and CH2MHILL also dig a good job engaging people and taking notes of comments, ideas and concerns. [...]
There was good turnout at the Fifty Plus Center Open House, and the level of interest and interaction were high. I noticed quite a few people giving their input and studying the various maps and examples. I certainly hope that the next meetings will also be well attended. Here is the list of the upcoming meetings. Please consider attending one and let your friends (and anyone else interested in good transportation in Salem) know about them.
